Oscar is a Durham University graduate, achieving the top First Class Honours of his degree cohort (BA in Chinese Studies) in 2022. As part of his degree, he studied at Peking University during his Year Abroad (2020-2021). He is currently studying the PGDL (combined Masters SQE) at BPP University Waterloo with a Career Commitment Scholarship parallel to undertaking his paralegal role at Jackson Lyon LLP. He is a native English speaker and fluent in Mandarin Chinese.

Throughout university, Oscar actively engaged in various advocacy projects within the British Chinese Community. In particular, he worked closely with branches of the British and Chinese Governments to found the UK’s largest student-led Chinese-language Film Festival. Oscar continues to work closely with official government bodies and the UK’s Chinese-speaking student diaspora as a Director of a national Student Union that oversees 60 Universities (including Oxbridge and Russell Group Universities).

Oscar brings a global perspective to his work and has had first-hand experience contributing to and leading teams in different cultures, languages, and disciplines. Before joining Jackson Lyon LLP, Oscar worked in law, aviation, business management and consultancy.

He formerly interned with Holman Fenwick Willian’s Aerospace division in Hong Kong, handling matters concerning insurance, arbitration, professional negligence, and insolvency.
