The role

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Solicitor to join our close-knitted team on a permanent and full-time basis in Mayfair, London.

You will report to the Partners of the firm and be working on a range of complex commercial and civil litigation matters ranging from commercial disputes, professional negligence, fraud claims, company disputes, landlord / tenant disputes to complex immigration appeals and public law / judicial review matters.

You will have the opportunity to join an ambitious team and be exposed to interesting and complex work.

You will report into the Partners of the law firm and work with close, tight-knit team of trainees and paralegals.

Requirements for the role

Qualified solicitor in England & Wales

Commercially focused

Strong teamwork ethos

Ability to work on own initiative

Ability to lead and manage paralegals / trainees

Committed to delivering consistent, high quality client service

IT literate

Knowledge of Leap software (but not essential)

Language skills – Chinese Mandarin and / or Cantonese (but not essential)

Salary is market rate and negotiable depending on your level of PQE / experience

About the role

Due to an expanding workload, we are looking to appoint a talented and enthusiastic law graduate to join us as a Paralegal and / or Trainee Solicitor to support our fee-earners on complex litigation matters.

This role is a permanent role with the successful candidate joining as a Paralegal before moving into a Trainee Solicitor role within 3 - 6 months, subject to performance.

We are looking for candidates who are able to demonstrate their ambition, drive and enthusiasm to develop their career with Jackson Lyon LLP.

You will be given early responsibility balanced with support from experienced lawyers as you assist them on complex cases. You will learn to find solutions by investigating factual and legal issues, analysing problems and communicating the results of your research. You will also become familiar with all aspects of the role of a solicitor, completing both contentious and non-contentious work. You will gain a full understanding of the skills and practice of resolving disputes through client contact, management of files, drafting of internal notes, memos and letters.

We are seeking someone with an international outlook, to assist with cross-jurisdictional litigation and transactions.

About you

The successful candidate will hold a relevant degree, have completed study and relevant work experience, and have a legal qualification (e.g. law degree, LPC, BPTC or Paralegal qualification).

He or she will have a strong work history, proven research and communication skills, IT literate and an awareness of strong commercial acumen. Previous experience of working in a law firm as a paralegal and foreign language skills are welcomed.
