Leon graduated with an upper-second class honours degree in LLB Law. He completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at BPP Law School before commencing his legal career with the Magic Circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, and subsequently qualified as a solicitor with an international law firm.
He quickly established himself as a solicitor practicing in commercial law and dispute resolution where he has provided complex legal advice relating to joint ventures, shareholders agreement, terms of business, franchising and commercial disputes to a number of overseas clients as well as UK based clients. In addition, Leon is an experienced Business Immigration solicitor and is able to advise clients on Tier 1 (Investor), Tier 1 (Entrepreneur) and Tier 2 applications.
Leon has a broad range of clients ranging from High Net Worth individuals, start-up companies to international companies. He prides himself on understanding the need of a client and is therefore able to provide pragmatic advice. In addition, Leon has acted pro bono for a range of charities including the Chinese Information and Advice Centre, which offers support to disadvantaged Chinese people; and Citizens UK, helping the Chinese community to participate in public life. He campaigned with London Citizens UK to “Say No to Gambling” in London Chinatown and has also provided his support to encourage British Chinese into politics.
Leon has been involved with notable cases such as R (on the application of Lee Ling Low & Others) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2010] EWCA Civ 4, R v Martin Jahnke, Cambridge MC (2009) and Wang & Anor, R (On the Application Of) v Secretary of State for the Home Department [2021] EWCA Civ 679 (11 May 2021) .
